Goalies need to learn how to be athletic and fundamentally strong. Here at Impact we want to make sure you can build a foundation for your game and receive consistent coaching. We have developed a system to take you to an Elite level.
(MTKA ONLY)-Mentor Program- Meet with Dave for 2 sessions. You can meet before and after, at that point you will discuss your goals and we can discuss your plan to attack next season.
GOALIE Dry land! Goalies- You will have your own goalie dry land this year. This will help you take your game to the next level!
On! Ice Training We offer a goalie coach every time you are on the ice training. You will focus on save selection, gap control and most importantly your feet. The first 20 minutes will be goalie specific drills to work on movement and gain confidence in the crease. The second 20 minutes will be getting more and more shots from live shooters. During this time our goalie coach will go crease to crease to assist you with your play and give you feedback. The final 20 minutes you will be put in to a small game situation where you are forced to react quickly to the play. Another important piece of this is learning how the play is developing and understanding the situation you are in. Off-Ice Training! Each goalie will receive a goalie specific dry-land to assist you in becoming a better athlete. With the amount of Finish Goalies entering the NHL we are incorporating an athletic dry land. Balance and quick feet will be the main focus! Extra! Goalies will receive an optional on ice session to work on feet and movement. This session is not mandatory for the goalies but a great bonus that Impact feels the goalies deserve. When your week is done there isn’t a better way to finish then a scrimmage and put the skills your learned from the week in to the highly competitive session.
Dave Rogalski Bio Dave Rogalski started his playing career in the Osseo Maple Grove Hockey Association and decided to play at Benilde St. Margret’s for High School. At BSM he was a four year Varsity Goalie and starter for three. He holds the all time saves category and is in the top ten of every goalie statistic there is. In 1999 he won the Class A State Championship. Dave was drafted in the first round of the American Western Hockey League (Now NAHL) by the Great Falls Americans. Instead of playing in Great Falls he decided to play for the Texas Tornadoes in the NAHL. After that he finished his playing career at Saint Mary’s University. Dave has always had more of a passion for coaching then playing. When he was 16 he started coaching the girl Varsity team goalies at Benilde and continued to coach ever since then. For the past 5 years his consulting and teaching has helped him make it a profession. He consults with the Elite High School goalies in the state and continues to teach them through their Junior and College ranks. He tries to stay involved in Minnesota Hockey and USA Hockey as an evaluator and is going to Rochester, NY this summer to work with premier goalies from all over the United States. He was fortunate to go back the State Tournament in 2006 with the Minnetonka Skippers HS Boys team as their goalie coach. He currently resides in Orono, MN and is getting married in August of 09! His roll with our organization will be to develop our goalies and help them make it to the next level. Dave has been training goalies with Impact for four years. Any questions please call or e-mail.
